We are looking for an MA Lab Assistant to join our team.

 

This position will provide support in the classroom that meets desired learning outcomes and will assist the Instructor during lectures and labs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage/observe students in activities for example vital signs, EKG or other noninvasive lab procedures following instructors’ demo
  • Assist instructor in handing over supplies to students for the day
  • Keep track of lab inventories and supplies
  • Ensure students are following OSHA guidelines in the lab
  • Assist instructor during Lecture/lab in maintaining discipline in the classroom/lab
  • Keep the classroom/ lab organized with updated information regarding CPR and Career Services seminar dates
  • Help student for access to student portal and Unitek library
  • Assist student’s during final checkoffs/skills competency assessments
  • Act as a substitute instructor as required (Does not include teaching)
  • Maintain student lab files

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma;
  • Graduate of a medical assisting program;
  • Certified Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA) preferred

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Current knowledge of Medical Assistant practice
  • Ability to mentor a highly diverse student population
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in interpersonal oral presentation; excellent communication skills
