We are looking for a Program Director - Dental Assisting to join our team.


Responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives; program compliance with Dental Board of California, ACCSC, BPPE, DOE and Title IV accreditation, regulations, and policies. Accountable for meeting student retention and attendance goals; directing and participating in educational planning; program organization; staffing; training and evaluating of faculty and staff; monitoring staff and student performance; motivating and advising students and staff; assisting with developing and maintaining the master schedule; and generating education department reports as needed.


  • Participating in budget preparation and fiscal administration, curriculum development and coordination, determination of teaching assignments, supervision and evaluation of faculty, establishment of criteria and procedures, design and operation of program facilities, and selection of extramural facilities and coordination of instruction in those facilities
  • Holding periodic staff meetings to provide for subject matter review, instructional calibration, curriculum evaluation, and coordinating activities of full-time, part-time, and volunteer faculty or instructional staff
  • Maintaining copies of minutes of all advisory committee and staff meetings for not less than five years
  • Ensuring and maintenance of compliance with Dental Board of California, ACCSC, BPPE, DOE and Title IV approval, accreditation, regulations and policies
  • Ensure orientation to dentists who provide extramural clinical practice
  • Ensure extramural dental facilities are visited at least once every ten clinical days
  • Ensure written contracts/affiliations with extramural clinical facilities
  • Monitoring of staff and student performance, motivating and advising students and staff as needed
  • Maintenance of student and faculty files
  • Monitor ongoing quality and performance of the program
  • Participate/Facilitate at minimum an annual Program Advisory Committee Meetings
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree or above; Dentist preferred.
  • Hold a valid, active, and current license issued by the Board or the Dental Hygiene Committee of California,

o   Licensed or permitted for a minimum of two years, and possess experience in the subject matter he or she is teachin

  • RDA (Registered Dental Assistant with California Board of Dentistry)
  • CDA (Certified Dental Assistant with Dental Assisting National Board)
  • Completion of a course or certification in educational methodology of at least 30 hours unless;

o   Holds a postgraduate degree in education

o   Holds a Ryan Designated Subjects Vocational Education Teaching   credential

o   Holds a Standard Designated Subjects Teaching Credential

o   Holds a Community College Teaching Credential

  • Prior teaching or related field experience
  • Must be able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with a diverse staff and student population
  • Ability to manage key metrics
  • Consistently demonstrate the highest levels of integrity
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
