We are looking for a BSN Instructor to join our team on a per diem basis.

 

Primary responsibilities are to deliver classroom instruction and provide clinical supervision to nursing students, as appropriate for courses assigned.  Day shift opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction to nursing students, as assigned
  • Assist students in acquiring the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills necessary for nursing practice
  • Update course syllabi and course documents each semester and upload to the appropriate electronic course folder as needed for courses assigned
  • Evaluate and provide timely feedback on student assignments
  • Implement creative classroom teaching strategies that emphasize the use of information and technology
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication
  • Provide evaluation of students, including timely reporting of student grades and progress
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student academic success, making referrals to the Student Services Coordinator as appropriate
  • Participate in professional development activities to become aware of developing trends in clinical and educational nursing practice
  • Implement best practices in the teaching role
  • Maintain current knowledge of and adherence to all College and Department policies
  • Develop, implement, and engage in special projects as assigned
  • Participate in Nursing Department committees, as assigned
  • Participate in governance of the Nursing Department when possible, through committee membership and other activities that support the goals of the Department
  • Participate in the evaluation process and provide feedback on Department operations
  • Work and communicate effectively with all campus departmental staff
  • Support all company initiatives by process and procedure as communicated
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Comply with all State, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing required; doctorate preferred
  • Two years clinical nursing experience in direct patient care is required; prior teaching experience desired
  • Faculty members must have a registered nurse license that is active and in good standing within the state of employment or a compact state
  • Faculty teaching in the clinical area must have basic life support CPR Certification and relevant immunizations
  • This position requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Effective interaction across departmental boundaries must be maintained
