We are looking for a Part Time Clinical Instructor for our LPN Program to join our team at Brookline College in Albuquerque, NM.

 

Primary responsibilities are to deliver clinical instruction and supervision to LPN nursing students as appropriate for courses assigned. Seeking energetic, experienced, engaging, empowering and inspiring nurse educators with a passion for excellence. This position provides a learning experience to students and evaluates their achievements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical instruction to nursing students, as assigned
  • Assist students in acquiring the cognitive, psycho-motor, and effective skills necessary for nursing practice
  • Complete clinical compliance documents each semester for the course lead
  • Evaluation and provide timely feedback on student assignments
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership, and organization skills
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication
  • Provide evaluation of students, including time reporting of student progress
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student academic success and communicating to course lead as appropriate
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student academic success, making referrals to the PASS program as appropriate
  • Maintain office hours for student consultation and advisement
  • Participate in professional development activities to become aware of developing trends in clinical and educational nursing practice
  • Implement best practices in the teaching role
  • Maintain current knowledge of and adherence to all College and Department policies
  • Develop, implement, and engage in special projects as assigned
  • Participate in Nursing Department committees, as assigned
  • Attend Clinical Orientation meeting
  • Attend Clinical Practice meetings
  • Participate in governance of the Nursing Department through committee membership and other activities that support the goals of the Department
  • Participate in the evaluation process and provide feedback on Department operations
  • Work and communicate effectively with all campus departmental staff
  • Support all company initiatives by process and procedure as communicated
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Comply with all State, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required or faculty without a Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN may be employed for one year and then are required to complete a BSN completion program or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program within five years
  • Two years recent clinical nursing experience in direct patient care is required; prior teaching experience desired in the following specialty areas:
    • Maternity Health (OB)
    • Simulation/lab
    • Critical Care
    • Pediatrics
    • Surgical
    • Psychiatric
  • Mental Health, Maternal-Child, Community, and/or Medical Surgical nursing experience required
  • Faculty members must have a registered nurse license that is active and in good standing within the state of employment or a compact state
  • Faculty teaching in the clinical area must have BLS/CPR certification and relevant immunizations.
